About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team while gaining hands-on experience in a retail setting. You will learn to navigate pharmacy systems, process prescriptions, and assist with patient care under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. This role focuses on building your professional skills while ensuring safe and efficient pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to retrieve patient information and process prescriptions.
- Enter, fill, and dispense prescriptions according to company policy.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Deliver patient care services within your state scope of practice.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Handle cash register transactions and support inventory management tasks like unpacking and storing shipments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pharmacy department.
- Adhere to the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A flexible schedule that includes availability for evening and weekend hours.
