About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily pharmacy operations and patient care. This role focuses on learning pharmacy systems, processing prescriptions, and delivering consistent customer service. You will gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting while adhering to state, federal, and company policies.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily tasks, including entering, processing, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient services such as blood pressure checks and medication therapy management.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and handling shipment claims for damaged or incorrect goods.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and organization.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist's personal attention.
- Process sales at the register and handle cash.
- Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and stay current on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
