About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work directly with our pharmacy team to support patient care and operations. You will learn pharmacy systems, gain hands-on experience with prescription processing, and assist in maintaining an orderly, well-stocked department. This role offers a chance to develop your skills under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving concerns.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient and drug information.
- Handle inventory tasks such as ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Process sales at the cash register and manage cash handling.
- Support patient care services that fall within your state scope of practice.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Manage telephone calls that do not require the direct attention of a pharmacist.
- Keep the pharmacy department clean, organized, and properly stocked.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
