About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting the pharmacist and the pharmacy team. You will support the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policies. This role focuses on developing your skills in pharmacy operations and customer service while you complete your pharmacy education.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist in entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, offering assistance, and resolving issues.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist's personal attention.
- Register sales on the cash register and manage cash.
- Support inventory management by ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain the pharmacy department by keeping it clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Assist pharmacists in delivering patient care services within the state scope of practice.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

- This position is located in Viroqua, Wisconsin.
- This is an on-site, paid, part-time role.
