About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team. You will use pharmacy systems to obtain patient information, process prescriptions, and gain experience in pharmacy operations. This role is designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge required to perform as a future pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists with entering, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Support the pharmacy team with inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Operate the cash register for pharmacy-related sales.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and stay current on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
