About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This role focuses on learning how to provide patient care, manage pharmacy operations, and deliver quality customer service in accordance with state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and retrieve patient or drug information.
- Enter, fill, and dispense prescriptions while adhering to the Good Faith Dispensing policy.
- Engage with patients by answering questions, resolving issues, and offering assistance.
- Support inventory management by ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain the pharmacy department by keeping it clean, stocked, and orderly.
- Handle cash register transactions and manage telephone inquiries.
- Deliver patient care services within your state scope of practice.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and stay updated on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A flexible schedule that includes availability for evening and weekend hours.

- This position is located in Valrico, Florida.
- The role is on-site and full-time.
- Compensation ranges from $19.50 to $31.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
