About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations, learn pharmacy systems, and provide care to patients. This role focuses on developing the skills necessary for a future career as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily tasks.
- Use pharmacy systems to look up patient and drug information.
- Process prescriptions and help with filling and dispensing.
- Engage with customers to answer questions and resolve issues.
- Assist with patient counseling and other health services.
- Handle incoming telephone calls.
- Register sales and manage cash transactions.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory by ordering, unpacking, and checking shipments.
- Keep the pharmacy department clean and well-stocked.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
