About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care while assisting the pharmacy team. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations, process prescriptions, and gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This role focuses on developing your skills in patient service and pharmacy procedures.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily tasks.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and retrieve patient information.
- Engage with customers to answer questions, resolve issues, and offer assistance.
- Help deliver patient services like medication therapy management and blood pressure screenings.
- Perform duties related to filling and dispensing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Handle telephone calls and register sales at the cash counter.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including unpacking shipments and organizing stock.
- Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Complete all required training and stay current on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
