About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will learn to provide patient care while assisting the pharmacy team. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in pharmacy operations and customer service. This is a part-time, on-site position based in Richmond, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient information and process prescriptions.
- Enter, fill, and dispense prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Deliver patient care services, including medication therapy management and blood pressure checks.
- Handle telephone calls and manage inventory, including ordering and stocking pharmaceuticals.
- Register sales on the cash register and maintain a clean, orderly pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Complete all required training and pharmacy policy modules.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
