About the role#
This is a full-time Pharmacy Intern position based in Jefferson City, Missouri. You will support the daily operations of the pharmacy, provide clinical services to patients, and assist the pharmacy manager with team development and inventory management. This role operates on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services, including medication counseling, side effect explanations, and drug interaction reviews.
- Manage the compounding, dispensation, and verification of prescribed medications according to regulatory and company standards.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, resolving issues, and offering healthcare services like immunizations and flu shots.
- Use pharmacy systems such as Intercom Plus, registers, and automation tools to manage workflows.
- Process insurance claims and coordinate with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with performance data analysis, inventory management, and staff training.
- Build relationships with the local medical community and participate in outreach activities.
What you'll need#
- A willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution prior to your start date.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Status as a Certified Immunizer, or a willingness to become one within 90 days of hire.
