About the role#
This is a paid Pharmacy Intern position based in Huntsville, Alabama. You will work on-site as part of the pharmacy team to gain practical experience in a retail setting. The role follows a rolling schedule and requires a commitment to full-time hours.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists and the pharmacy team to provide patient care and services.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient information.
- Engage with customers by offering assistance and answering questions.
- Perform pharmacy tasks such as entering, filling, and dispensing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering and storing shipments.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Register sales on the cash register and assist with cash handling.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
