About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care while assisting the pharmacy team. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in pharmacy operations, customer service, and clinical tasks. This role is designed to help you prepare for a future career as a pharmacist by applying your studies in a real-world setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with daily operations and patient care services.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient or drug information.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Handle sales transactions at the cash register.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's direct attention.
- Complete all required training and follow company policies regarding pharmacy practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
