About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens in Timberville, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This position focuses on learning pharmacy operations, supporting patient care, and assisting the pharmacy team in daily tasks while adhering to state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with the practice of pharmacy, including entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving concerns to provide a positive experience.
- Support patient care services such as medication therapy management, blood pressure screenings, and patient counseling within the state scope of practice.
- Handle inventory management tasks, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Manage cash register sales and handle non-clinical telephone inquiries.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and organization while following asset protection protocols.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, which includes evening and weekend hours.
