About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by assisting pharmacists in a retail setting. You will learn to navigate pharmacy systems, process prescriptions, and provide patient care while adhering to state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with prescription entry, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Support inventory management by ordering, unpacking, and checking pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and ensure the department is properly stocked.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
- Report prescription errors immediately and follow quality improvement protocols.
- Register sales at the cash register and assist customers with product locations.
- Complete required training and stay current on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

- Location: Guntersville, Alabama.

- Compensation: $19.50 to $31.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
