About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations, patient care, and prescription processing. This role is designed to help you develop the skills and professional habits needed to succeed as a future pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team in providing a positive patient experience by engaging customers and resolving their concerns.
- Support the prescription process, including data entry, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing, while following state and federal regulations.
- Help pharmacists deliver patient care services, such as medication therapy management and health screenings, within your scope of practice.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by ordering, unpacking, and organizing shipments.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls and register sales at the point of sale.
- Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Complete all required training and stay updated on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
