About the role#
This is a part-time Pharmacy Intern position based in Independence, Ohio. You will support the daily operations of the pharmacy while working toward your professional credentials. This role involves direct patient interaction, clinical service delivery, and operational support to ensure the pharmacy runs efficiently.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers, including medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Perform clinical and wellness services such as immunizations and flu shots.
- Ensure the accurate compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management, financial performance, and pharmacy workflow optimization.
- Engage with customers to resolve issues and provide proactive assistance.
- Process insurance claims and maintain knowledge of pharmacy information systems.
- Participate in community outreach and build relationships with local healthcare providers.
- Support staff training, coaching, and performance monitoring.
- Handle pharmacy opening and closing duties.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Current certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
