About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will support the daily operations of the pharmacy while gaining hands-on experience in a retail setting. You will work under the guidance of the pharmacy manager to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient workflow. This is a part-time, on-site position located in the Bronx.
What you'll do#
- Provide pharmacy consulting services and answer patient questions regarding medication usage, side effects, and potential interactions.
- Perform compounding, medication review, and verification processes to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Deliver clinical and wellness services, including administering immunizations.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with daily operations, including inventory management, staff training, and workflow optimization.
- Process insurance claims and resolve payment issues to support customer needs.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, offering assistance, and providing proactive healthcare support.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems and company policies to ensure a safe and effective environment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or a willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 90 days of hire.
- Status as a Certified Immunizer or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
