About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to assist with patient care, prescription processing, and pharmacy operations. This full-time, paid position offers the opportunity to develop your clinical skills while learning company policies and customer service standards.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, including prescription entry, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing.
- Help deliver patient care services such as medication therapy management and health screenings within your state scope of practice.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies.
- Maintain the pharmacy department by keeping it clean, stocked, and orderly.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of a pharmacist.
- Operate the cash register for sales and report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
