About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting the pharmacy team in a retail setting. You will learn to navigate pharmacy systems, assist with patient care, and develop the professional skills necessary to function as a future pharmacist. This position operates under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in accordance with state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Support patient care services, such as medication therapy management and health screenings, within your state scope of practice.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls that do not require the direct attention of a pharmacist.
- Operate the cash register for sales and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

- Compensation: $19.50 to $31.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
