About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations, assist with patient care, and learn the essential skills required for a future career in pharmacy. This is a part-time, paid position based in Danvers, Massachusetts.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team in providing patient care and services within the state scope of practice.
- Enter, process, fill, and dispense prescriptions using pharmacy systems.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Manage inventory tasks, including ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy department.
- Register sales on the cash register and assist with other assigned pharmacy tasks.
- Complete all required training programs and report any prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
