About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting the pharmacist and the pharmacy team. You will gain hands-on experience in pharmacy operations while working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role is designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge needed to perform as a future pharmacist in accordance with state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
- Assist pharmacists in delivering patient care and services within the state scope of practice.
- Engage customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Manage inventory tasks such as ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Register sales on the cash register and handle cash transactions.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly Pharmacy Department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and follow company asset protection techniques.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

- This position is based in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship.
- The role is filled on a rolling basis.
