About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will learn to follow state and federal regulations while assisting the pharmacy team with daily operations and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily tasks.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and access patient or drug information.
- Greet customers and answer their questions to provide assistance.
- Handle pharmacy duties including entering, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care services, such as blood pressure checks and medication therapy management.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering and unpacking shipments.
- Register sales on the cash register and handle telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
