About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This role focuses on learning pharmacy operations, assisting with patient care, and delivering high-quality customer service while adhering to state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with daily operations, including processing prescriptions and managing pharmacy systems.
- Engage with customers and patients by answering questions, resolving issues, and offering assistance with products.
- Help deliver patient care services within your state scope of practice, such as medication therapy management.
- Manage inventory tasks including ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle pharmacy department maintenance, ensuring the area remains clean, stocked, and orderly.
- Process sales on the cash register and handle telephone inquiries that do not require a pharmacist.
- Report prescription errors immediately and follow all company policies, including the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
