About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will support the pharmacy team in daily operations, patient care, and customer service while adhering to state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with processing prescriptions and using pharmacy systems to manage patient and drug information.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues to provide assistance.
- Help deliver patient care services, including medication therapy management and health screenings, within your state scope of practice.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's direct attention.
- Process sales transactions on the cash register.
- Maintain the pharmacy department to ensure it remains clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A flexible schedule that includes availability for evening and weekend hours.
