About the role#
This is a part-time Pharmacy Intern position based in Harlingen, Texas. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in pharmacy operations and patient care. This role focuses on learning pharmacy systems, procedures, and customer service standards to prepare for a career as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the practice of pharmacy and process prescriptions using pharmacy systems.
- Engage with customers to answer questions, resolve issues, and provide assistance with products.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care services within the state scope of practice.
- Handle inventory management tasks, such as ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Register sales on the cash register and manage telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Pharmacy Department.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Complete all required training and follow company policies regarding pharmacy operations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
