About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will learn to assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team in providing patient care. You will operate under state and federal regulations while gaining experience in pharmacy systems, prescription processing, and customer service. This is a paid, on-site role based in Davenport, Florida.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with customers and patients to provide assistance, answer questions, and resolve issues.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care services, such as medication therapy management.
- Manage inventory tasks like ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle pharmacy department maintenance and ensure supplies are stocked.
- Process sales on the cash register and handle non-clinical telephone calls.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Complete all required training programs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
