About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will support the pharmacy team while learning to provide patient care in accordance with state and federal regulations. This role focuses on developing the skills necessary for your future career as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team members with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient information.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Perform tasks under the supervision of a pharmacist, including filling and dispensing prescriptions.
- Help deliver patient care services within the state scope of practice.
- Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
- Manage cash register transactions and sales.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's direct attention.
- Support inventory management, including ordering and stocking pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Complete all required training and special assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
