About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care while assisting the pharmacy team. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in pharmacy operations, patient interaction, and clinical services. This role is designed to help you develop the skills necessary to function as a future pharmacist while following state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with prescription entry, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient records and drug information.
- Engage with patients by answering questions, resolving issues, and offering assistance.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care services, such as medication therapy management and health screenings.
- Handle pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Manage register sales and perform general maintenance to keep the pharmacy department clean and orderly.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
