About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, patient care, and inventory management while learning to follow state and federal pharmacy regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team members with daily tasks.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient information and process prescriptions.
- Enter, fill, and dispense prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Deliver a positive customer experience by greeting patients, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
- Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and stocking pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Register sales at the cash register.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
