About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This role focuses on learning pharmacy operations, assisting in patient care, and delivering customer service in accordance with company policies and state regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily operations, including entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with patients by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Perform health services such as patient counseling and medication therapy management within the scope of your internship.
- Handle administrative tasks like answering phone calls and managing pharmacy inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies.
- Operate the cash register for sales and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Adhere to the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Complete all required training and stay informed on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a pharmacy school program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, which includes evening and weekend hours.
