About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will work in a retail pharmacy setting to support clinical services and daily operations. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Pensacola, Florida. You will assist the pharmacy manager in maintaining workflow efficiency, managing inventory, and ensuring the pharmacy meets all regulatory standards.
What you'll do#
- Consult with customers on medication usage, drug interactions, and over-the-counter products.
- Provide preventive healthcare services, including administering immunizations.
- Perform core pharmacy tasks such as compounding, dispensing, reviewing, and verifying prescriptions.
- Process insurance claims and resolve payment rejections.
- Coordinate with medical providers to clarify prescriptions, dosages, and potential allergies.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring, training, and performance coaching.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus and StoreNET.
- Engage with customers to resolve issues and promote positive service experiences.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or pursuit of a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Current certification as an immunizer, or a willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
