About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacy team in daily operations, patient care, and customer service while adhering to state and federal regulations. This role is designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge required for a career in pharmacy.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with the practice of pharmacy, including entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Support inventory management by ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's direct attention.
- Maintain the pharmacy area to ensure it remains clean, stocked, and orderly.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and stay informed on pharmacy developments.
- Operate the cash register for sales transactions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
