About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team while gaining hands-on experience in a retail setting. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to assist with patient care, prescription processing, and daily pharmacy operations. This role is designed to help you learn pharmacy policies and service standards while you complete your education.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient information and process prescriptions.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Help pharmacists deliver patient care services, including medication therapy management.
- Handle incoming telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Manage inventory tasks such as ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Register sales at the cash register.
- Maintain the pharmacy department in a clean and organized condition.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and follow the Good Faith Dispensing policy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
