About the role#
This is an on-site Pharmacy Intern position based in Punta Gorda, Florida. You will work in a retail pharmacy setting, supporting the pharmacy manager with daily operations, clinical services, and patient care. This role is paid and full-time.
What you'll do#
- Provide consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Perform clinical tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, and verifying prescribed medications.
- Deliver preventive healthcare services such as immunizations and flu shots.
- Assist the pharmacy manager with inventory management, financial performance, and workflow optimization.
- Engage with patients to resolve issues, answer questions, and provide support.
- Process insurance claims and coordinate with medical providers to clarify prescriptions.
- Maintain proficiency in pharmacy systems like Intercom Plus, registers, and StoreNET.
- Participate in community outreach to promote pharmacy services.
- Support staff hiring, training, and performance management.
What you'll need#
- Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited institution before starting.
- Ability to secure pharmacist licensure from the state Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
- Status as a certified immunizer or the willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
