About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to learn the daily operations of a retail pharmacy. You will gain hands-on experience in patient care, prescription processing, and pharmacy management while following state and federal regulations. This role is a paid, on-site position based in Mandeville, Louisiana.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily tasks and patient interactions.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient records and drug information.
- Enter, process, fill, and dispense prescriptions.
- Help deliver patient care services such as counseling, blood pressure checks, and medication therapy management.
- Engage with customers to resolve issues and answer questions.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering and unpacking shipments.
- Handle cash register transactions and assist customers with over-the-counter products.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and ensure supplies are stocked.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Handle incoming telephone calls.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
