About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Pharmacy Intern position for Summer 2027. You will work on-site in Jeffersonville, Indiana, learning to provide patient care while assisting the pharmacy team. You will follow state and federal regulations as you gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and retrieve patient or drug information.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Help deliver patient care and health services within your state scope of practice.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls that do not require a pharmacist.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy department.
- Register sales on the cash register.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend hours.
- Preference is given to candidates with at least six months of retail experience, prior work experience with Walgreens, and strong math skills.
