About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will learn to follow state and federal regulations while helping the pharmacy team provide care and services to patients. This role focuses on developing your skills in pharmacy operations and customer service as you work toward your career as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient information.
- Greet customers, answer their questions, and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Perform tasks such as entering, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Support patient care services, including medication therapy management and blood pressure screenings.
- Handle incoming telephone calls.
- Manage inventory by ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Register sales at the cash register.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
