About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, patient care, and prescription processing while learning company policies and procedures. This role is based in Jackson, New Jersey, and operates on a rolling, full-time basis.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with daily tasks and pharmacy operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to look up patient information and process prescriptions.
- Enter, fill, and dispense prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Help deliver patient care and services within your state scope of practice.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues to provide service.
- Build relationships with customers and offer assistance with products.
- Register sales on the cash register and handle cash transactions.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and storing shipments.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Complete all required training and follow the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

- Compensation: This is a paid position with an hourly range of $19.50 to $31.00.
