About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team while gaining hands-on experience in a retail setting. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to provide care, process prescriptions, and assist patients. This role focuses on learning pharmacy operations, policy, and customer service standards to prepare for a career as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including entering, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Use pharmacy systems to manage patient information and process claims.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving concerns.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care services, such as counseling and health screenings.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and organizing shipments.
- Handle cash register transactions and maintain a clean, orderly pharmacy department.
- Report prescription errors immediately and follow all safety and quality policies.
- Complete required training and stay updated on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
