About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will assist the pharmacy team in daily operations and patient care while developing the skills needed for a future career as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily tasks and patient services.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient information.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Perform duties such as entering, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care within the state scope of practice.
- Handle incoming telephone calls and assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking shipments.
- Register sales at the cash register and maintain a clean, orderly pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
