About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care while assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team. You will gain experience in pharmacy operations, customer service, and clinical tasks while following state, federal, and company policies.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Handle pharmacy system tasks to obtain patient and drug information.
- Support patient care services, including medication therapy management and patient counseling, within the scope of your internship.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Register sales at the cash register and handle telephone calls.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
