About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Walgreens, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to learn pharmacy operations, clinical services, and patient care. This role supports the pharmacy team in delivering accurate, safe, and helpful service to our customers.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily operations.
- Process prescriptions, including data entry, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing.
- Engage with patients to provide assistance, answer questions, and resolve issues.
- Support patient counseling and health services like medication therapy management.
- Handle incoming telephone calls and assist with inventory management, including unpacking and storing shipments.
- Register sales at the cash register and maintain a clean, organized pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and stay current on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
