About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will learn to provide patient care by assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team. You will gain experience in pharmacy systems, prescription processing, and customer service while adhering to state and federal regulations. This role focuses on developing the skills necessary to perform as a future pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with patients by answering questions, resolving issues, and offering assistance with products and services.
- Support pharmacists in delivering patient care, such as counseling and health services like medication therapy management.
- Manage inventory tasks including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle telephone calls and register sales on the cash register.
- Maintain the pharmacy department to ensure it remains clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings and weekends.
