About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations and patient care. This role focuses on learning pharmacy workflows, state and federal regulations, and customer service standards. You will assist the pharmacy team in providing health services while developing the skills needed for a career in pharmacy.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff with daily tasks.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient information.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues to provide support.
- Handle prescription entry, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing under pharmacist supervision.
- Support patient care services, such as medication therapy management and health screenings.
- Manage inventory by ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical stock.
- Handle non-pharmacist telephone calls and register sales at the point of sale.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and stay updated on pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
