About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations and patient care. This role focuses on learning pharmacy policies and procedures while helping the team meet state and federal regulations. You will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily tasks and operations.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient information.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues to provide a positive experience.
- Enter, fill, and dispense prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Help deliver patient care services, including counseling, within your state scope of practice.
- Handle cash register transactions and manage inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Complete required training to stay current on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
- Handle phone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
