About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to learn the daily operations of a retail pharmacy. You will assist the team in providing patient care while gaining experience with pharmacy systems, prescription processing, and customer service. This role is designed to help you build the skills necessary for a career as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily tasks, including entering, processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information.
- Handle register sales and assist with inventory management, such as ordering and unpacking pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of a pharmacist.
- Complete all required training and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
