About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations and patient care. This role focuses on learning pharmacy systems, processing prescriptions, and delivering service to customers. You will gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting while following state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily tasks.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient information and process prescriptions.
- Enter, fill, and dispense prescriptions according to company procedures.
- Deliver patient care services, including counseling, blood pressure checks, and medication therapy management.
- Engage with customers to answer questions, resolve issues, and help locate products.
- Handle cash register sales and manage telephone inquiries.
- Support inventory management by ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and stock supplies.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete all required training and follow the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
