About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations and patient care. You will learn pharmacy policies and procedures while assisting the team in accordance with state and federal regulations.
What you'll do#
- Process prescriptions by entering data, handling third party processing, and filling orders.
- Use pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information.
- Assist pharmacists with patient counseling and health services like blood pressure checks and medication therapy management.
- Engage with customers by greeting them, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Handle pharmacy telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist.
- Manage inventory by ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Register sales on the cash register and handle cash.
- Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty.
- Maintain the pharmacy department in a clean, orderly, and well-stocked condition.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
