About the role#
This is a part-time, paid Pharmacy Intern position. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in a retail pharmacy setting. The role involves assisting the pharmacy team, engaging with patients, and learning the technical aspects of prescription processing and pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team to provide patient care and services.
- Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and manage patient information.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Perform pharmacy tasks such as entering, filling, and dispensing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Handle cash register transactions and manage pharmacy inventory.
- Report any prescription errors immediately and follow quality improvement protocols.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and organization.
- Complete required training and stay current on pharmacy developments.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's direct attention.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
