About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This position focuses on learning pharmacy operations, patient care, and customer service standards while supporting the pharmacy team in daily tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily operations and patient care services within your state scope of practice.
- Process prescriptions by entering information, filling, and dispensing medications.
- Engage with customers to resolve issues, answer questions, and provide assistance with products.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, unpacking, and organizing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Handle telephone calls and register sales at the cash register.
- Maintain the pharmacy department by keeping it clean, organized, and properly stocked with supplies.
- Report any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, which includes evening and weekend hours.
